Social media

Where it lives now. Social Media moved into the Tools Hub under Content → Tools → Social Media on 2026-05-14.

The Social Media composer connects your nonprofit's accounts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X/Twitter so you can write once and publish everywhere — without sharing passwords or maintaining four different scheduling tools.

Connecting accounts

Content → Tools → Social Media → Connect Account:

  • Facebook Page — OAuth flow, requires you to be a page admin.
  • Instagram Business — connected through your Facebook Page (Meta requires this).
  • LinkedIn Company Page — OAuth flow, requires you to be a page admin.
  • X / Twitter — OAuth flow with the platform.

Tokens are stored encrypted; only Koolay's posting service uses them.

Composing a post

The composer has:

  • Text body — main post copy.
  • Media — image or video. Per-platform aspect ratio guides shown.
  • Platforms — checkboxes to select which networks to post to.
  • Per-platform tweaks — override text per platform if needed (e.g. shorter for Twitter).
  • Schedule — post now or pick a date/time.

Click Post or Schedule when done.

Why per-platform tweaks matter

  • Twitter/X has a 280-char limit; longer posts get truncated.
  • Instagram doesn't allow clickable links in captions — put your link in bio.
  • LinkedIn rewards longer-form posts.
  • Facebook is flexible on length.

Media library reuse

Pulling images from your Media Library is one click. The composer respects each platform's image dimensions and shows a per-platform preview.

Schedule and queue

The schedule view shows everything queued: when, where, and what content. Drag to reschedule. Cancel before publish.

Post history

Past posts list shows what was published, when, where, and a link to view on the platform. Per-post engagement metrics (likes, shares, comments) appear here when available.

Tenant isolation

If you're managing multiple nonprofits' tenants, social accounts are scoped to each tenant — no chance of accidentally posting to the wrong nonprofit's Facebook.

Common patterns

  • Cross-post fundraising campaigns — same image and copy on all four; instant 4× reach.
  • Per-platform timing — LinkedIn does best Tuesday morning, Instagram in evenings, etc.
  • Save templates — reusable post formats ("Volunteer Spotlight", "Grant Win", "Event Reminder") for consistency.
  • Don't auto-cross-post everything — Twitter's tone shouldn't always match LinkedIn's. Tweak per platform.
