GrantHub Lite
GrantHub Lite is a free grant-discovery tier for nonprofits with under $1M in annual revenue. It's a real, standalone product — sign up, enter your EIN, and start finding grants. There's no website, donations, or CRM required, though all of that is one login away if you grow into it.
What's included
- Browse live grant opportunities — unlimited search across the same active opportunity database paying customers use.
- Funder database with profiles built from IRS 990 filings.
- AI grant matching — enter your EIN once and the AI scores live grants against your profile so you see the ones you actually qualify for, not a wall of RFPs.
- Saved search projects — up to 10 project profiles (each is a saved search / matching profile).
- Shortlist — save up to 50 grants.
- Application pipeline — track up to 10 active applications with status, notes, and next steps.
- Deadline calendar + alerts.

When you hit a limit, the platform shows a clear upgrade prompt rather than failing silently. Existing data is never removed — you just can't add beyond the cap until you upgrade.
What's not in Lite
These are reserved for paid GrantHub tiers (Grants module and up):
- AI Writer — the AI proposal/LOI/section co-author. On Lite the AI Writer tab is hidden. See AI Writer.
- Standalone Discovery panel — the free-form "browse every grant" page. Lite focuses you on matched grants (the matching engine still searches the same 29,000+ live opportunities), which is the better workflow for most small orgs.
- Semantic search across the full 1.9M-grant historical database.
- Grant analytics + RFP archive.
Eligibility & graduation
- Eligibility is determined automatically from your IRS 990 revenue (under $1M), with a self-attestation fallback.
- Revenue is re-checked annually from your 990. If you cross $1M, we'll invite you to upgrade to a paid GrantHub tier — the discovery side keeps working in the meantime. Nothing is yanked away overnight.
Upgrading
When you're ready for the AI Writer, unlimited matching, semantic search, more seats, and analytics, upgrade to the paid Grants module. Your projects, saved grants, and applications carry over — upgrading only unlocks features and raises limits.
